Recent valuation assignments in the mining sector include the following:
- Palabora Mining Company Ltd
The Rushton asset valuation team were appointed to carry out an insurance valuation of the assets associated with Palabora Mining Company in Phalaborwa, Limpopo Province, south Africa. The assignment included the valuation of the company’s mining, smelting and refining operations.
- Arab Potash Company PLC
We were appointed to carry out a valuation of the company’s fixed assets for insurance purposes. The facilities were located at the Southern Shore of the Dead Sea in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The assignment included the valuation of the company’s evaporation pond system, processing facility, residential township and shipping port.
- Rio Tinto
Matthew was team leader responsible for the valuation of the Argyle Diamond Mine in the remote northern region of Western Australia. At the time the mine was the largest producer of natural diamonds in the world. The project was undertaken as part of the tax consolidation work required for Rio Tinto and involved the market valuation of mining equipment, processing plants and associated infrastructure assets found within the Argyle Township.
